Tailored Celebrations & Events
In a fast-moving world folk hanker to stop and ponder over beauty from arts and artisans, nostalgia and design, sounds and other senses. A moment’s enjoyment is found in an afternoon vintage fair, a fig tree tea garden, a gourmet food festival, a closet cinema, an evening art installation, time spent away from the everyday.Auntie Maureen hosts her events with hospitable flair, regardless of scale or numbers of guests. Her vintage, antique, collectible, craft and gourmet food fairs have for three years drawn curious crowds in East London as well as in North London and the Enfield Town Show. Her can-do organisational vision has helped style and animate The Leytonstone Festival, East London Dance performances plus E17 Art Trail and Penny Fielding Gallery & Interior art openings.Few ideas are ever safe: Auntie’s distinctly old-world inspired festival-like events productions are designed beyond entertainment to impress as an experience.
The most current collaboration is with Basenotes to host a one-off art performance on Thursday 13thSeptember as part of ‘Bestow’, the 2012 E17 Art Trail. This night, called Sensorium, reads as follows:
“The seat of perception and sensation is a garden. With a scented talk about edible fragrances, the Topsy Turvy Tree by candlelight, while sounds from other times drift through the air, this soiree serves to enthrall the senses. Historical lecture delivered by the UK’s only independent fragrance website www.basenotes.net.”
Entry to Sensorium is free, no advance booking is necessary, but please do arrive in time for the lecture at 7pm.
